In 1860, the rich Dutchman Hugh-Hope Loudon bought a piece of land at the end of the Cap d'Antibes to build a luxurious residence which was completed in 1867. It will be called Eilenroc, anagram of Cornelia (his wife).
In 1927, the villa became the property of Mr. Beaumont and his wife.
In 1982, Mrs. Beaumont bequeathed her property to the City of Antibes Juan-les-Pins. The donation was accompanied by precise conditions, the most remarkable of which were: the creation of a Beaumont Foundation intended to manage and exploit this heritage; the use of the property by the city for exhibitions, receptions and the reception of illustrious guests; the opening of the gardens to the public.
